Boom Studios CEO and founder Ross Richie continues to plunge his metaphorical sword into the hopes of Image Comics' publisher Eric Stephenson to win The Kieron Gillen Wars of 2019, the Marvel vs DC-esque rivalry for the affections of writer Doctor Kieron Gillen between the two companies Boom is publishing Once & Future while Image[...]

In Kieron Gillen's run on the Xbooks, he emphasised the high-arch aspect of Mister Sinister, giving us many Sinisters cloned from the original performing menial services, and embracing the ridiculousness of it all.
In yesterday's Powers Of X #4, Jonathan Hickman and Pepe Larraz took that even further, presenting a gossipy, camp, even-more-ridiculous Mister Sinister, including his[...]

And they brought a couple of friends to talk about Once & Future, Kieron Gillen and Dan Mora.
They met an enthusiastic retailer reception, and Kieron Gillen kept thanking the room for their undying support, in what Bleeding Cool contributor Joshua Stone told me was far too quick an English accent to transcribe But apparently, Gillen[...]
But in a shocking move Tuesday, explosive publisher BOOM! Studios announced a novel plan that could turn the entire industry on its head: what if we tried to sell comics to readers?
Partnering with retailer point-of-sale system ComicHub, BOOM! will target actual readers in an attempt to convince them to buy copies of Kieron Gillen and[...]
In the writer's notes for The Wicked + The Divine #42, Kieron Gillen describes a moment in the issue as a fist-pumping moment He's right One of Chekov's guns finally goes off, and Ananke (though mind controlling Woden's Valkyries) kills Woden The team executes the violence well Woden's faceplate is cracked, punctured and broken into[...]
Kieron Gillen (Warhammer: Crown Of Destruction, The Wicked + The Divine) billed this as a state of the nation of superhero comics and well…Peter Cannon: Thunderbolt #1 (January 2019) is a superhero comic in the vein of the Authority (May 1999), with a lot of nods to Watchmen (September 1986) If he truly believes this[...]

Matthew Wilson's color art is as wild and eye-catching as ever, with the dazzling color palette always being one of my favorite things about the art of this series.
The Wicked + The Divine #34 isn't one of the high points of the series, but, with Kieron Gillen's solid writing and fantastic dialogue, it's still far[...]

The Wicked + The Divine #33 from Image Comics by Kieron Gillen, Jamie McKelvie, Matthew Wilson, Clayton Cowles, and Dee Cunniffe is going to be a tough one to review without spoilers, but I'm going to try.
What I will say is that this issue is a game changer And damned if I don't admit[...]
The Wicked and the Divine remains a brilliant tale. You want to know how it all ends, but you don’t want to rush it so you can keep enjoying it.
And with a new collection of Uber from Kieron Gillen and Daniel Gete, and a new War Stories from Garth Ennis and Tomas Aria, they're going to hammer that home a tad.
