Arrow Season 6: With the Team Divided, Oliver Will Turn to an Unlikely Ally

The CW has released the synopsis for the mid-season return of Arrow, and I don't think things are going to be getting any better for Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) anytime soon. A lot has happened to the Mayor of Star City over the last couple episodes. He gave up being the Green Arrow, helped Slade Wilson find his soon, was arrested for being the Green Arrow, and found out one of his teammates had betrayed him to the FBI.Arrow

All of this is happening while Cayden James (Michael Emerson) puts together a team of his own that includes Black Siren (Katie Cassidy), Richard Dragon (Kirk Acevedo), Anatoly Knyazev (David Nykl), and Vigilante / Vincent Sobel (Johann Urb).

ARROW: "Divided" (Thursday, Jan. 18 at 9 pm)
Despite losing half his team, Oliver remains confident that he, Felicity and Diggle can stop Cayden James and Black Siren However, when he discovers one of Cayden's secrets, he decides to team up with an unlikely ally. Meanwhile, Dinah spends time with Vince.

The big question is: who is the unlikely ally? We know that Colton Haynes is returning for what is likely a two-part story arc, but that's not really an unlikely ally. That's a returning ally. There hasn't been any talks about casting of new characters, and word from Marc Guggenheim is that Slade Wilson (Manu Bennett) is off limits again because of Deathstroke showing up in the Justice League universe. My guess then is the surprise guest that showed up as Oliver and Felicity's (Emily Bett Rickards) wedding… Felicity's father Noah Kuttler (Tom Amandes). Who better to go up against James than the Calculator? And since they were able to sneak him back into the series without any real fanfare, it seems like they could do it again.
