Jersey Shore Star Vinny Guadagnino Falls for MSNBC World War Z Hoax
Jersey Shore star Vinny Guadagnino took to Instagram Monday to call out MSNBC for using footage from the 2013 zombie horror movie World War Z to illustrate the state of Philadelphia during the George Floyd protests. posting a photo comparing the movie scene with the same footage with an MSNBC graphic, Guadagnino tweeted, "A few hours ago, MSNBC using a scene from World War Z, claiming it was caused by the protests in Philly. This is #justiceforgeorgefloyd? The media wants you to panic and be afraid, cause a divide, and not fix the real issues. See the bigger picture. #linkinbio."
However, in a shocking twist, it turns out Guadagnino, who, in addition to his career as a reality TV star on Jersey Shore and Jersey Shore Family Vacation and a stint as a Chippendales stripper, was a political science major in college, apparently fell for a hoax by right-wing conspiracy leader QAnon. NBC News journalist Ben Collins wrote on Twitter, "QAnon's Q himself posted a fake screenshot of MSNBC airing World War Z footage. MSNBC obviously did not do this, but this supposedly multidimensional, omniscient government intelligence operation posted it anyway. This bit of disinfo was everywhere today because of one Q post." If only the conspiracy-busting Collins was around back in Season 2 of Jersey Shore, Sammi Sweetheart might have been able to figure out who wrote "the note" even sooner.
Guadagnino, usually widely believed to be the most intelligent of the Jersey Shore roommates, soon deleted the Instagram post. However, a screenshot was captured and posted to the Jersey Shore subreddit. That is, unless that screenshot too was faked by QAnon. Maybe the mastermind behind the whole thing is Guadagnino's Jersey Shore rival, Angelina Pivarnick. Is Angelina actually Q? Um, hello! This conspiracy could have layers upon layers upon layers, and who can really say for sure? Jersey Shore: Family Vacation airs on Thursdays on MTV.
