The Comey Rule: Brendan Gleeson is Donald Trump in New Showtime Teaser

They say that the road to greatness can be a bit bumpy at times. If that's the case, then Showtime's The Comey Rule, the cabler's $40 million adaptation of former FBI head James Comey's New York Times bestselling book A Higher Loyalty (as well as additional interviews), should be looking to rake in a ton of accolades when it airs on September 27 and 28, at 9 pm. After rumors and accusations surfaced that Donald Trump's White House was using influence behind the scenes to have the limited series pushed until after the presidential election, the cable network quickly announced the early fall release and released preview images of Jeff Daniels (The Newsroom) as Comey and Brendan Gleeson (Mr. Mercedes) as Trump.

Now, viewers are getting their first official teaser for the limited series. Along with the clips, Showtime also released several new preview images (which you'll find throughout the article):

Based on Comey's No. 1 New York Times bestselling book A Higher Loyalty and more than a year of additional interviews with a number of key principals, THE COMEY RULE is an immersive, behind-the-headlines account of the historically turbulent events surrounding the 2016 presidential election and its aftermath, which divided a nation. THE COMEY RULE is not a biopic of one man, but is instead the story of two powerful figures, Comey and Trump, whose strikingly different personalities, ethics and loyalties put them on a collision course.
