WWE Superstars Share Bray Wyatt/Windham Rotunda Memories (VIDEO)

WWE superstars Bayley, Drew McIntyre, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, AJ Styles & more share memories of the late Bray Wyatt/Windham Rotunda.

The world of professional wrestling works in mysterious ways because of the ongoing live theatrical nature of the performance art. As wrestlers create their own characters to either endear or antagonize the fans, there's something to be said about the true comradery of the locker room between the superstars. While the primary focus of the superstar is to entertain the crowd, there are so few who go above and beyond lifting their peers behind the scenes. Among the most beloved in and outside the ring was the Wyatt Family. Friends from across the wrestling business mourned the loss of Jonathan Huber (aka WWE's Luke Harper and Brodie Lee, outside) in 2020. The recent passing of WWE's Bray Wyatt at the age of 36 struck a familiar devastating tone for all the lives he touched as his friends recorded a compilation of memories of Windham Rotunda in and outside of his Bray character. Among those who showed up in the tribute show on SmackDown included two of the Wyatt family members in the currently injured Braun Stroman and Erick Rowan (Joseph Charles Ruud), who's not under a WWE contract and currently performs as Erick Redbeard.

Among those featured include Bayley, Drew McIntyre, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, AJ Styles, Adam Pearce, Top Dolla, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, Otis, Mike Rome, Byron Saxton, and Samantha Irwin. It's a touching 35-minute-long tribute, with Irwin closing out singing Wyatt's theme, "The Whole World in His Hands." While it's rare, there have been a few other instances when an active roster member passes with WWE following up a tribute show with comments from superstars, which include Owen Hart in 1999 and Eddie Guerrero in 2005.

"Since we don't know where this is going to [laughs]," Bayley starts. "We don't know whether this is going to be posted on social media, played on TV, or go to the family. I'll keep it very simple and short because I'm not good at these, but Bray Windham was one of the first people I met at FCW (Florida Championship Wrestling), (AEW's) Saraya (WWE's Paige), actually, and introduced me to him. And I feel like that was like I opened a secret door to the best person and it was like he let me in, no pun intended. He let me in just based on that introduction because she meant so much to him. And he was already with the Wyatt family, they were on their way going to Raw and SmackDown as I was making my way into FCW NXT."

Fightful.com's Sean Sapp reports All Elite Wrestling owner Tony Khan granted talent time off of AEW Dynamite to attend Wyatt's services. For more from Bayley and the comments from the talent, you can check out the video below.
