Image Comics Announces More Favourable Terms For Retailers At ComicsPro

Ex-comics store retailer and now Image Comics' retail sales director Corey Murphy has given an address to retailers at the ComicsPRO event in Portland. And it appears to have been a rather welcome one.
Because between now and Image Expo in January, the publisher launched a discount direct subscription service that put a few retailer's noses out of joint.
Well, this might have reset a few of those noses in rather attractive new positions.
Firstly ramping up Image's presence on the Diamond retailer website. Image's presence has been, reportedly, lacking in the recent past, but they are launching a major overhaul and a one stop shop for information about Image pertinent to retailers. This will also include a forum or message board for retailers and Image staffers within Diamond's own website, the first publisher to do such a thing.
Secondly, Image Comics is increasing the lowest rung of discounts from 35% to 45%. This directly benefits the smallest comic store, those wit the smallest orders and less likely to want to take risks. Instanly Image Comics has just become a much more attractive publisher when it comes to pushing their titles on customers,
And finally they will get giving all new comic book stores that open accounts with Diamond a full 50% discount on Image comics for their first year of business, rather than the current three months deal. Again, this will see new stores commit longer and further to stocking and selling Image titles over those of competitors, often in brand new markets.
It went down rather well…
