Assassin's Creed Origins Is Potentially Releasing On October 27th
There is another leak in Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed ship, and I'm really starting to wonder if they intend to make an artificial reef out of this wreck. Today's leak reportedly reveals the release date for the game while offering further evidence that the game will be called Assassin's Creed Origins.
According to Reddit, the leak comes from a copy of an Assassin's Creed issue of Game Informer. The alleged magazine confirms the game's setting, title, and gives an October 27th release date. The art should look pretty familiar for those who recall yesterday's Target leak, that also came through Reddit.
According to the Reddit user who claims to have the issue, the game will reportedly feature a new combat system, take place during the rise and rule of Cleopatra, include new gear and leveling systems, and that there will be another playable character beyond the protagonist, Bayek.
Previous reported leaks regarding the upcoming Assassin's Creed game have included a look at the possible protagonist, who may also be the character featured on this reservation card's art, as well as a new logo. A reportedly leaked screenshot for the game also backed up previous reports of the game being set in Ancient Egypt. And a Target reservation card for the game leaked yesterday which hinted at pre-order bonus content.
Earlier this year, Ubisoft confirmed that a new Assassin's Creed would be coming within the course of its current fiscal year, while the official Assassin's Creed Twitter accounts promised more information would come at E3. Ubisoft is hosting a panel at the E3 Coliseum on Tuesday at 1:30 PDT.
At this point, there isn't really anything that panel can tell us that we don't already know. It's just going to be confirming most of these leaks, as there is really no way all of these are inaccurate.
