Tom Holland Talks Spider-Man: Homecoming And His Queens Accent
Spider-Man: Homecoming opened this weekend and Marvel has released a few shot interviews with the cast. First up is Tom Holland, who made his debut as Peter Parker in Captain America: Civil War and now gets his own film that includes parts for Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau). In the interview Holland talks about working with two of the actors that started the MCU, and in Favreau's case the director who started it, and learning from them. He also talks about his Queens accent, the science T-shirts he wears and just what it's like to be part of the franchise.
The use of Stark and Hogan can be seen as a symbolic passing of the torch as the likelihood of RDJ doing very many more of these films is slim. So bringing back characters from the 2008 Iron Man film is a chance for them to take a victory lap so to speak before Avengers: Infinity War and it's sequel that will likely change the MCU drastically. Moving characters like Iron Man and Captain America into the background and letting Spider-Man, Captain Marvel and Black Panther take the lead.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is in theaters now.
