Tim Tebow Sounds More Excited About Joining WWE Than He Does About XFL

Disgraced professional football player and potential future baseball star Tim Tebow doesn't sound too keen on joining Vince McMahon's relaunched XFL in 2020. In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Tebow was asked about McMahon's comments that Tebow would be welcome to play in the league, since he meets McMahon's standards of being a "quality human being" because he kneels in prayer, not in protest of the National Anthem.

"That's very nice of him, but 2020 is a long way from now," Tebow said in the interview. "I'm focused on today, I'm focused on spring training and a lot of things before that. I'm not even close to thinking about that right now."

Asked to clarify whether that was a "yes" or "no," Tebow replied, "What if it's a 'I have no idea?' That's in 2020 and I'm super excited about baseball."

But while Tebow doesn't sound particularly enthused about the prospect of playing McMahon's alternative football league, he actually seems much more interested in a stint as a pro wrestler. Asked if he's a fan of the sport, Tebow said that friendships with wrestlers have made him appreciate it and respect the athletes involved, and named Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, and Brock Lesnar as favorite wrestlers.

"Oh, I think I could cut a good promo," Tebow said when asked if he could see himself appearing on Monday Night Raw. "I think we could do something fun."
