"Final Fantasy VII Remake" Will Release in March 2020

Square Enix announced at the Final Fantasy VII concert tonight that the FFVII Remake will release on PS4 on March 3, 2020.

The announcement came tonight during the Final Fantasy VII: A Symphonic Reunion orchestra concert in Los Angeles. While the game will come to other platforms, it will debut first on the PS4.

Square also released an updated description for the game, which reads:

Rebuilding and expanding upon the legendary RPG for today, FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE tells the story of a world fallen under the control of the Shinra Electric Power Company, a shadowy corporation controlling the planet's very life force as mako energy. In the sprawling city of Midgar, an anti-Shinra organization calling themselves Avalanche have stepped up their resistance. Cloud Strife, a former member of Shinra's elite SOLDIER unit now turned mercenary, lends his aid to the group, unaware of the epic adventures that await him.

They also unveiled some sweet new game art featuring the game's iconic villain Sephiroth.

Square Enix will be giving us more information on the game during the Square Enix Live E3 2019 showcase tomorrow at 6pm PDT. You can watch the livestream here.
