Jeremy Whitely on Marvel Comics' Cancellation of Future Foundation
Jeremy Whitely, creator of Princeless Bride and Raven: Pirate Princess, was at SPX this weekend. When some rather unfortunate news went wide. Bleeding Cool reported the word coming out of a recent Marvel summit, that the Future Foundation title written by Jeremy was to be cancelled. That the decision had been made just after the first issue was published and that it was a sales-based decision. We noted that the book had been solicited up until issue 4 and it seems Marvel will publish all those issues, and one more, before collecting it in a trade paperback for publication in February. Note the lack of Volume notation now.
Jeremy confirmed the news on Twitter,
He addressed concerns with those who wait for collections.
And since he was at SPX selling his own work,
I mean, he makes a very good point. We also noted that the much-acclaimed artist, Will Robson, who we have described as someone in the middle of Art Adams and Jamie McKelvie, is off the (now) final two issues for the launch of Peter Porker, The Spectacular Spider-Ham series.
