DC Comics and AEW, Sitting in a Tree, M-A-K-I-N-G Wrestling Comics?

It looks like WarnerMedia is looking for a little bit of corporate synergy between their in-house comic book publisher and their new pro wrestling program. All Elite Wrestling's new weekly live wrestling show, Dynamite, debuts next Wednesday on TNT, a channel owned by WarnerMedia. And to promote it, DC Comics is collaborating with the wrestling company, starting with an official endorsement of Batman by AEW executive Cody Rhodes:

And continuing with an Instagram post by the AEW on TNT account announcing a collaboration with DC Comics and unveiling an image of AEW World Champion Chris Jericho created by Howard Porter and Hi-Fi.

While the Instagram post tells fans to stay tuned for more details on this collaboration, comics dirt sheet Newsarama is reporting that the deal will apparently involve AEW comic books published by DC. Says Newsarama's Chris Arrant, the Al Isaacs of comics journalism:

With this, Jericho will become one of the first wrestlers to appear in comic books for four separate wrestling promotions – CMLL (who self-published), WCW (who had a licensed comic through Marvel), WWE (who currently publishes with BOOM!), and now AEW (who has a partnership with DC).

Does Arrant have some inside info on the plans? We'll have to wait and see what happens. Either way, with eight or more wrestling shows airing at least five days of the week on national television starting in October, it's going to be a hell of a time to be a fan!

Sadly, that prophecy was wrong. Oh, Jude Terror was right. For ten years. About everything. But nobody listened. And so, Jude Terror has moved on to a more important mission: turning Bleeding Cool into a pro wrestling dirt sheet!
