DC Pushes Punk Rock Jesus For July At Chicago

 

It's been a while coming certainly. But Punk Rock Jesus #1 by Sean Murphy is solicited by DC Vertigo for July. And while much attention at the show will be towards Marvel's ReEvolution and Avengers Vs X-Men and DC's Batman Year One and Before Watchmen, it's good to know that at the Diamond Summit yesterday, this project was so prominent.

This is one of those projects that's the kind of thing DC should be doing, that Image Comics have stolen a march on. The question is, will this be the exception to Vertigo's publishing plans or the rule? It has been a long time coming after all, and it feels more like a remnant of what Vertigo once was than a new beginning. I'd love to be proved wrong.
