Dynamite is making quite a niche for themselves working with some of the most popular genre authors out there including Patricia Briggs, George R R Martin, Jim Butcher, Brandon Sanderson and more. They've moved from just adapting the published novels to creating origins stories that fit within the created universes.

Today the announced a regular and limited signed edition of The Dresden Files: Wild Card, an original series collected for the first time featuring a story by Jim Butcher, Mark Powers and Carlos Gomez that falls into the Dresden Universe after the novel White Night and the graphic novel Down Town.

From the back cover description of this upcoming hardcover collection:

"A bizarre double murder draws the interest of Chicago's only wizard-for-hire. But as Harry Dresden begins his investigation, the clues lead to troubling conclusions about the possible perpetrator, and set him on a path that will place him in the middle of a conflict between the city's three most powerful factions — a conflict that could engulf all of Chicago!"

Jim Butcher's The Dresden Files: Wild Card hardcover will be solicited in the August 2016 Previews catalog, corresponding to release in October.
