Ram V & Jorge Fornes Still Teasing Sandman… Or Shadow Of The Bat?
Ram V and Jorge Fornes still seem to be teasing Sandman... and Batman... but could this be Shadow Of The Bat?
Article Summary
- Ram V teases a mysterious DC Comics project with artist Jorge Fornes, sparking fan speculation.
- Hints suggest the new series could involve both Batman and the Golden Age Sandman, Wesley Dodds.
- Ram V confirms the project isn't Sandman Mystery Theatre, but details remain under wraps for now.
- Speculation grows that this project may be tied to DC's upcoming Next Level "Shadow Of The Bat" series.
Last summer, Ram V teased that he was working on a Batman comic book project for DC Comics with Jorge Fornes.

Then he seemed to tease that it was a Sandman project, with the Golden Age Sandman, Wesley Dodds.

And now, it seems to be both. Saying "Also, I am indeed still on my superhero break. But there are a few things I worked on that aren't out yet ;)"

Answering whether or not this was a new Sandman Mystery Theatre, Ram V said "Naw. Something else. Will be announced in due course" but confirming it was indeed with Jorge Fornes and also colourist Dave Stewart. But what is it? Now this is just mindless speculation, nothing more I promise but… you know when they announced all those DC Next Level books at New York Comic Con last year?

They still haven't announced The Demon but at this stage we all know it's by James Harren. But they also still haven't announced the new Shadow Of The Bat series for DC Next Level. And whatever that book is, it can't just be another Batman book. It has to be something different. What if it's so different, it has to involve Wesley Dodds? It's not about Batman but about a shadow of him, whether that's a person or an impact felt on Gotham. What if it's an anthology for Batman and Gotham-related characters, and this might be part of that? If so, they have been on this for quite some time… okay, okay, this is even more mindless than my usual mindless speculation. Doesn't mean I'm wrong, though. Okay, it probably does, but this is Easter Sunday, a time of miracles…
