Mourning September With David Hine – And The Darkness!

Mourning September With David Hine – And The Darkness!

A year ago I posted an article entitled David Hine's Six For September. Looking at six books that were coming out from writer, David Hine, in September 2010, The Darkness: Four Horsemen #2, The Bulletproof Coffin #4, Azrael #12, The Spirit #6, Ryder On The Storm #1 and Detective Comics #869.

September 2011 however? Not a bean. He's got Radical work scheduled but with DC Comics' New 52 relaunch and has no future work planned for them.

So what is he up to? Ironically, he's writing a comic book project with and for the band September Mourning to be drawn by Michael Broussard published by Top Cow. In December though. About "the first tale of September, a young woman with a soul split between Earth and Mortem. Gifted and cursed with the powers of a Reaper, September must act as judge and jury over the Worthless, but is she prepared for the burden?"

Probably. It will be a web series on MTV, along with animation and reality show-style video and will include a live music broadcast at some point.

The main character is M Lazar, who currently is a real-life member of the actual pre-existing band September Mourning. The fictional iteration of M Lazar, named September, will first be introduced in an upcoming edition of Marc Silvstri's popular comic The Darkness. Sometime before the end of the year, the transmedia project will launch with a live concert by the band and a simultaneous release of September Mourning's first episode as a digital exclusive on MTV Geek.

Which also ties in with the announcement that David Hine is the new writer of The Darkness, accidentally revealed by Ron Marz in a Newsarama interview. That aspect that was deleted pretty shortly afterwards after Top ow people kicked off, but thankfully the forums grabbed it before then.

Oops.
