New Dark Tower Rumor Has Liam Neeson Interested In Playing Roland
So Aaron Paul has "had a lot of meetings" about the Eddie Dean role in Ron Howard's The Dark Tower adaptation, but what about the gunslinger himself?
Schmoes Know were quick to jump on that one, and bring word that according to their source, Liam Neeson is (or was, at some point) "interested" in the role of Roland Deschain. Actors previously linked to the role include Russell Crowe, Viggo Mortensen and Javier Bardem, so Neeson seems to fit into that group quite nicely.
Also interesting in the Schmoews report is that the TV component of the adaptation may just be on Netflix, which I think a lot of people would be excited about. Not only have most of Netflix's original productions been great latey, this material also seems highly suited for binge-watching.
I think, as more news hounds realize this high profile and highly anticipated project may be alive again, we are in for a barrage of rumors and reports of meetings and wishlists and offers. So neither the Paul nor this Neeson news necessarily means anything at this point and we're probably still a long while off from anything official.
