A Surreal Coming Of Age Story Arrives In May – Preview 5 Pages Of A Glance Backward From Magnetic Press
Magnetic Press, who specialize in bringing material from other languages to the English-speaking audience for the first time, are released A Glance Backward by Pierre Paquet and Tony Sandoval this May. It's a hard cover, 92 page graphic novel that was originally published in French.
Magnetic Press describe the book thus:
Eleven-year-old Pepe's world turns inside out when he finds himself pulled inside the walls of his own home, seemingly trapped in a strange and surreal place. As he searches for a way out, he discovers a myriad of strange, intriguing, and frightening characters, who ultimately lead him to complete the greatest journey of them all: growing up. A powerful coming of age tale everyone can identify with.
Artist on the book Tony Sandoval is an award winning Mexican illustrator and author of graphic novels inclined toward "strange stories", according to Magnetic Press, and this is Pierre Paquet's first graphic novel as an author, having founded the European publishing house Paquet Editions in 1996, and he's going to be following this with an autobiographical work.
