Tom McCarthy Writing Big Screen Adaptation Of Tommysaurus Rex

tommysaurus-rex Image Comics' 2004 graphic novel Tommysaurus Rex has a new screenwriter for its long-gestating big screen adaptation.

Universal picked up the rights 10 years ago, and after several iterations with different filmmakers attached never came together, it's up for another go around.

THR reports Tom McCarthy and John Bland will be taking over adaptation duties on the Doug TenNapel graphic novel which tells the story of a boy who moves in with his grandfather one summer and has to deal with bullies. Things change when he finds a a T Rex in a cave. He's got a new loving pet and friend, but the townspeople aren't so keen on the carnivorous reptile running around their neighborhood.
