SCOOP: All Of DC Comics' Year Of The Villain 'Battle-Damaged' Logo Covers For August 2019 Solicitations

You're welcome, internet. Ahead of this weekend's Diamond Retailer Summit, DC Comics is to reveal covers and details for August's Year Of The Villain crossover titles, with the "Dark Gifts" theme. This cross between Marvel's Acts Of Vengeance and Marvel's Fear Itself sees Lex Luthor make good on July's The Offer and sees him upgrade DC villains significantly – and a few erstwhile heroes who have fallen to his dark side. And thanks to our good friend Tako, we get to see them all early.

The covers will also see the hero's name become "battle-damaged", as a visual cue of the battles within. And with each month, the logos will take more and more damage until the villain's name takes over the title in November.

And, yes, more $4.99 card stock covers on top of this, by the likes of Stanley "Artgerm" Lau, Joshua Middleton, Gabriele Dell'Otto, Yasmine Putri and more which will a) increase DC's dollar share but b) decrease their Per Capita share as the price differenial will see them treated as two separate items by Diamond rather than simple variant covers…
