Part of Warren Ellis' Pitch For Wildcats

On his mailing list which, seriously, you should all subscribe to, come on now, Warren Ellis has been talking about the upcoming Wildcats 6-issue series he is writing for August, spinning out of the concluding The Wild Storm 24-issue mini-series

And how the cancellation of Border Town from DC/Vertigo after sexual harassment allegations were made against Eric M Esquivel saw Ellis request the suddenly-jobless art team of Ramon Villalobos and Tamra Bonvillain for the series.

Warren Ellis' Pitch For WildcatsAnd that it is very different to The Wild Storm, telling us, from his pitch document,

THE WILD STORM is a slow burn, with careful gridded pages, carrying many plotlines in a novelistic way.

WILDCATS is none of these things.  It will move very fast, it will focus exclusively on the main cast and the people and events they meet, and it will be as explosive and crazy as I can possibly make it.  It will be, deliberately, the precise opposite of THE WILD STORM.

Control. Escape.  Breakaway civilisations.  Central planning.  Survival.  Conceptual breakthrough and the discovery that our universe is bigger than we thought.  And the world is stranger than we thought.

Oh and how more people should read Ice Cream Man. Sign up here…
