A couple years back I was watching the Micheal Douglas movie Falling Down and thought what if this happened to a Super Hero. What would it be like for one to fall down with that much power? This is where the basis for the story was formed. Now making a great hero break is no easy task. When your a super hero you've seen allot. It would take more than the death of a friend or family member or an even the Apocalypse to fully destroy the will of a hero because… that is apart of what makes them a hero in the first place.

What it takes is the focus of the limited series. We've spent years developing and preparing the world of Max Atom. We've carefully been going through everything that it would take for someone like him to go into a downward spiral. We really wanted to create a personal, and emotional journey for Max. This is not a tale of the hero becoming a villain or anything world threatening. It is a story of a man hanging on the edge and trying not to fall when everything around him personally is pushing for it.

There is never a plot twist or anything done for simple sake of shocking the reader. Whatever direction the story goes, it is deliberate and with reason… even if it doesn't make sense at that moment. No matter how much we love our characters or places we created for this, anything can happen. Going with this style of planning has made it more exciting for us and hopefully for you the reader as well.
