It Won't Be Long Until UFOlogy From James Tynion IV, Noah J. Yuenkel, And Matthew Fox
I couldn't be more excited about James Tynion IV working on another project, because I'm so obsessed with his fantastic series, The Woods. Now he's teaming up with Noah J. Yuenkel (The House in the Wall) and artist Matthew Fox (Long Walk to Valhalla) for a story entitled UFOlogy. From BOOM! Studios, UFOlogy tells the tale of Becky Finch, a normal high school student growing up in the small Midwestern town of Mukawgee. While Becky always wanted a simple life, Malcolm Chamber wanted a destiny. An answer from the stars. When Becky is marked by an alien's touch, it's up to Malcolm to uncover the truth behind the mystery.
BOOM! Studios Editor-in-Chief Matt Gagnon, shared his thoughts on the book by saying,
Character is at the heart of all of James's stories. Whether they're on a strange planet or in rural Wisconsin, he's proven he's one of the best in the business when it comes to character-driven stories with rich concepts. This April he's teaming up with Noah Yuenkel to do it again. They're joined by the incredibly talented artist Matthew Fox, for a story that feels like an heir to sci-fi thrillers like Super 8 and The X-Files.
This story sounds so interesting, April can't come soon enough. I love the idea of a setting where people grow up having to deal with aliens. A character that has a hope to be "under the radar," and is forced not to be automatically creates excitement for me as a reader. After reading the description, and knowing the capability Tynion has to write great stories, UFOlogy has just become my most anticipated book! There are going to be a few different variant covers for #1 that you can take a look at below.
UFOlogy #1 arrives in comic shops on April 1st.
Main cover by series artist Matthew Fox
Jackpot Variant by Alison Sampson (Genesis)
10 Years Anniversary incentive cover by Frazer Irving (Eternal)
Retailer incentive cover by Paul Maybury (Sovereign)
