You Can Pay $750 to Get A Selfie With Ike Perlmutter

For decades, Marvel Chair Isaac Perlmutter – known as Ike – stayed out of the public eye. As stories spread about his work at Marvel Comics, launching the Marvel Studio film, keeping down costs and showing a mercurial eye for not making Marvel movies with lead women – while making lots of Marvel TV shows with lead women, photos of him were all but impossible to find.

Then he and his wife Laura became two of their Mar-A-Lago friend Donald Trump's biggest donors for his successful Presidential campaign, Laura was on Ike's Inauguration Committee, Ike joined the administration in Veteran's Affairs, and both dined with Trump over Thanksgiving at his table, rather than Trump's own family. And as a result, we got some more footage and photos of the man. But now you get a chance to take your own selfie with them both, in June.

Maybe you could ask him about what he did or didn't say about Bob Harras, what he did to Eric Ellenbogen in the office, what he thinks about female-led superhero movies after Wonder Woman, did he actually talk about female villains not selling Iron Man toys (that one we weirdly doubt), what Harold Peerenboom's really like, how much Disney to pay to settle that suit from female black executives against him back in the day, what price CB Cebulski had to pay to become EIC, and anything else you can google Bleeding Cool over.

All you have to do is pay $750 for an individual ticket to the Perlmutter Cancer Center – Out On The Town event. The Perlmutter Cancer Canter, as Bleeding Cool has covered before, is a New York medical centre that the Perlmutters have funded – $50 million by 2014 – with a further $9 million by 2016 which has been spent on, among other things, nanoghost technology. They also donated another $5 million, at least, for trans surgery specialists in 2018. And on June 8th, they will be celebrating the work of the Perlmutter Cancer Center.

Come Out on the Town with the Perlmutter Cancer Center as we host all those who embody the tremendous life and spirit of the people we care for. Day in and day out, the physicians, researchers, and experts of the Perlmutter Cancer Center work to bring the latest advances to communities throughout New York City and to make new discoveries that will transform care for everyone, everywhere. On Monday, June 8, we'll gather together with our friends and supporters for a lively evening featuring music, dancing, and a live auction. Be there for a celebration that will ignite hope and inspire generosity.
