Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Announces New Playable Character
Announced on the Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Kickstarter page, Zangetsu will be the second playable character when the game launches.
Zangetsu's main weapons are the Zangetsuto katana and his primal elemental talisman magics. He can explore the castle with his hook chain, to deal with the various platformer mechanics of the game.
Developer Koji Igarashi and publisher 505 Games also teased a third playable character for the game, which will be revealed soon. Possibly during E3 next week.
Unfortunately, due to logisitical difficulties, Bloodstained won't be publicly available in Japan on June 18 & 25, 2019. However, the game will still be coming to Japan on all platforms in both digital and physical formats. However it has been delayed.
The current plan is for all Japanese backers of the Kickstarter to receive temporary Steam keys on June 18, 2019 until the game is ready to ship on the Japanese market.
Lastly, the Kickstarter confirmed the additional content that will be available day 1:
- Nightmare Mode
- New Game Plus
- 8-bit retro level
- Cheat codes
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will release in all other regions on June 18th, 2019 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The Switch edition will release on June 25th. The game was initially supposed to support Mac and Linux operating systems, but those plans were scrapped last year.
