Call Of Duty WWII's Zombie Mode Will Be Revealed At SDCC
Sledgehammer Games will be unveiling Call of Duty: WII's new zombies mode at San Diego Comic-Con on July 20th. We haven't heard too much about COD:WWII's multiplayer yet, but we do know that the zombies mode will be key. Sledgehammer teased the game mode back in April, describing it as a co-op mode that "delivers a unique storyline that's an all-new take on Nazi Zombies."
The official Call of Duty Twitter account teased the upcoming reveal with a creepy image of a zombie's gaping maw and eerie eyes alongside the following message:
"They're coming. Prepare for the world reveal of [Sledgehammer Games'] twisted new vision of Call of Duty zombies at Comic-Con."
We don't know just yet when on July 20th that panel will be, or if it will be streamed, but we'll keep you updated with the news as we get it.
The zombie mode has been a longstanding part of Call of Duty games, although it doesn't go quite as far back as COD's World War II roots. It just wouldn't be a Call of Duty game without zombies at this point, and given the grisly image we have so far as a teaser, I'm certain this Zombie mode will be a sight. It is also a coop mode, much like a lot of zombie titles, the point will ultimately be the kill as many Nazi zombies as you can, while somehow giving us something new in the tired trope that is Nazi zombies.
There definitely appear to be hints of experimentation, given the gruesome face-cage on our promo zombie here, but Nazi human experimentation resulting in zombies isn't exactly a "new take on Nazi Zombies." Looks like we'll just have to wait until the 20th to see.
