Collapsus Broke Our Puzzle Brain During PAX East 2019
One of the first games we were signed up for when going through PAX East this year was a puzzle game called Collapsus from Wraith Games. The game has kinda been around for a minute now as far as conventions go, and it already in Early Access, we just haven't had the pleasure of checking it out ourselves yet. When we first tried it on, we were immediately perplexed because it looks like a lot of puzzle games you've played before, but it operates totally differently. For starters, this isn't about just matching up patterns, it's about resource management as you will strive to clear long rows of blocks or pay the consequences with blocks that don't fit. What's more, you only have a certain amount of chances before its game over. The bonus is that you can kill tiles in any direction, which works better in mobile than console or PC probably does, but it's a great mechanic to finding solutions beyond the norm.
The game comes with dozens of modes, challenge, timed events, specific solutions, and more to get the most out of your game. This honestly should be a #1 game on mobile devices right now, but it's not officially been released yet. When we chatted with the crew at PAX East, we were told we'd see it officially released on every platform under the sun from the previous and current generation of gaming devices. Hopefully, that's sooner than later, because Collapsus was a winner in our eyes.
