DC Legends Brings Blackest Night To Mobile Strategy RPG Gaming
Earlier this week was the release of DC Legends, an RPG game based in the DC Universe for play on mobile devices. I download the game when it launched and have been playing sporadically over the last four days. I've already leveled up 25 levels and unlocked 9 characters… so it's moving pretty fast. This is a strategy game… hence the RPG tag… that allows you to pick four characters from your collection to either battle against other players or taking on storylines. This isn't a game of speed and reflexes, but rather of cunning and choosing which toons to take and how you use their abilities.
The story is a loose interpretation of the Blackest Night event series from a few years ago… maybe more than a few years… the video below features an interview with Design Director Sean Dugan and it gives you a good idea of what the game is about. I'm having fun playing it…. but the true test will be to see if I'm still playing it down the line. I've already lost interest in Batman: Arkham Underworld and Injustice mobile games but I'm still playing Contest of Champions after well over a year.
