Despite Popularity, 'Overwatch' Won't Be Adding Any New Events In Year Two
Did you enjoy all the events Overwatch did this year? The Olympics, Halloween, Christmas, Chinese New Year, etc. Would you like them to do more? Sorry, that's not happening. Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan took part in a moderator run subreddit interview that Blizzard will focus more on refining the events they already created and not produce any new ones in the coming year.
The team are already creating special events to fill in the gaps between seasons and are making sure to avoid "event fatigue" by wearing players out on events where you have a small amount of time to collect everything. If you look at the comments in the feed, the reaction is pretty much split as some agree with the decision while others are angry over it. I personally agree with it, but also am in the camp that the old skins should become available again, as it is a constant insult and painful reminder to look down and see the ones you didn't collect and can no longer buy. And I know I'm not the only one! You hear us, Jeff?!
