In Need Of Weekend Plans? Dishonored 2's Free Trial Should Keep You On Your Toes
If you weren't quite sold on Dishonored 2, but would like to take it for a spin anyway, the game is getting a free trial period so you can figure out if you want to return to the world of Dishonored. You can chose to play as either Empress Emily Kaldwin or her royal protector and protagonist of the first Dishonored, Corvo Attano.
The free trail will be available on April 6th from the Dishonored 2 page on the PSN Store, Xbox Marketplace, or Steam. Players who decide to upgrade to the full game during or after completing the free trial will be able to keep all of their saves made during the trail period and pick up their campaign where they left it off.
The game has won more than 100 'Game of the Year' honors by PC Gamer, IGN, and won 'Best Action-Adventure Game' at the Game Awards in 2016. Personally, I'd say do it. Not only is it free – which, hey, who doesn't like free stuff?- but Arkane Studio did a fantastic job of continuing the Dishonored story despite the incredible diversity of the possible endings to the first game. And it's a supernatural stealth action game, so, there's a lot working to keep you invested in the story.
If you've been hiding under a rock and have no idea what this game is even about, the press release announcing the free trial has you covered. "When the mad witch Delilah seizes the throne, the fate of your Empire is left hanging in the balance. As Emily or Corvo, travel beyond the legendary streets of Dunwall to Karnaca, the once-dazzling coastal city that holds the keys to restoring Emily to power. Armed with the Mark of the Outsider, how far will you go to hunt down your enemies – and take back what's yours? How will you combine your powerful supernatural abilities, weapons and gadgets to eliminate your enemies?"
So, April 6th. Not a bad weekend plan.
