EA Games Stepping Away From The Switch For A While
In what sounds like a really bad decision, EA Games has announced that they'll be taking a break from releasing games on the Nintendo Switch for a while. The Wall Street Journal reported the news yesterday, as you can see WSJ tech writer Takashi Mochizuki shared it with his followers on Twitter.
The short version is that EA sounds disappointed about how FIFA 18 did on the Switch, so rather than contribute more resources to the system over the next few months, they're taking a break until March to apparently determine whether or not they'll keep making games for the console. On the one hand, you can't really blame them as the console is only in the hands of just over two million gamers and they're making titles for a small market share compared to the Xbox or PlayStation. On the other hand, you're cutting yourselves off from one of the three big game companies, and people have a tendency to remember these decisions down the road.
For what it's worth, FIFA 18 wasn't that great of a game and has had nothing but issues and glitches since being released with few patches being issues to correct them. So maybe its best EA stop making games for the console for a while.
