It Appears We're Getting a New Simpsons Video Game

It looks like sometime within the next year we'll be getting a brand new video game based around The Simpsons with an announcement coming soon. E3 posted this tweet below yesterday, letting attendees know that a panel featuring several producers and writers for the show would be at the convention on Tuesday, June 11th, for a panel. If you know anything about E3, you know that people don't really go to attend a ton of panels, so it's pretty clear we're getting some kind of video game announcement at the event near the end of the first day.

Considering some of the past games The Simpsons have been involved in, this could be really awesome or just terrible. It seems like game developers either do pretty well with a concept and falter on the execution, or they have a bad idea that's so bad the game is actually fun to play. We personally would love them to either come out with a library of all the old games from the Konami arcade cabinet all the way to now, or hopefully take the South Park route and do a proper RPG/adventure game. But now that we've said that out loud, that probably won't be it. Considering it's been 12 years since the last Simpsons game was released on console(The Simpsons Game by Electronic Arts in 2007), any kind of game would be welcome at this point. We'll see what happens at E3 this year, hopefully with a livestream.
