Minecraft: Story Mode Will Be Taken Offline In Late June
Sad news for those who enjoyed Minecraft: Story Mode from Telltale Games as the word has finally come down that the game will be removed from stores. It's been a minute since we've had any bad news related to the fallout from Telltale Games going under, but the latest round of games affected by the move is the popular Minecraft story they put together with Mojang, who were the ones who posted the bad news this week.
Today, we have some important information to share for all players of Minecraft: Story Mode – A Telltale Games Series, Season 1 and 2, on behalf of its publisher. As you might have heard, its publisher is no longer in business, which unfortunately means that Minecraft: Story Mode will no longer be supported. If you have purchased these seasons, please download all remaining episodes prior to the service being discontinued in June. Here's the full message:
"On behalf of the publisher, Minecraft: Story Mode – A Telltale Games Series, Season 1 and 2 will no longer be supported on June 25th, 2019. If you have purchased these seasons, please download all remaining episodes prior to the service being discontinued in June."
On the bright side, it means if you own either game on either platform already, you can still download it until it's taken offline in late June. But once it's gone, don't expect it to come back as we're sure all the problems with Telltale are going to be lasting for a number of years. The game has a pretty impressive cast, in case you want to check it out, as it features the voice talents of Patton Oswalt, Catherine Taber, Ashley Johnson, Brian Posehn, Martha Plimpton, Scott Porter, Dee Bradley Baker, Dave Fennoy, Corey Feldman, Grey Griffin, John Hodgman, and Paul Reubens.
