You Can Play The Division 2 Alone into the Endgame
Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment's Mathias Karlson has assured fans of single-player games that The Division 2 will be able to be completed solo.
The Division was a game that was clearly built for online and co-op play. From the first time the game was shown off to the way it is structured, it's clear the title did everything in its power to try and convince you to team up with some friends or strangers online. That said, it was completely in the hands of the player to decide how they wanted to play. I got up to to the level cap and a little beyond all on my own in the game and had a good time.
If you were worried about changing times that The Division 2 wouldn't allow that, you can put those fears to bed. Speaking to AusGamers, game director Mathias Karlson assured fans that they could play the game all on their own if they chose too. He said:
It's really a core principal for us that there is no right or wrong way to play The Division. You can play through the entire story campaign into end-game and end-game, alone. You can also do the same content two, three, or four player co-op. Or eight-player co-op, two full groups in the raid if you opt into the challenge that we're adding. So it's very important for us that you get to pick.
This is great to hear as I did find my trudge through the first game's campaign quite satisfying on my own. Here's hoping it all comes together and it pleases all kinds of players like they are clearly going for.
