Pokémon GO Hints At September 2021 Events Coming Soon

As the Season of Mischief kicks off in Pokémon GO, so too will a new slate of events. Here's everything we know about Niantic's plans for Pokémon GO during September 2021.

Niantic posted the following teases to the official Pokémon GO blog:

Psychic Spectacular: This event featuring Psychic-type Pokémon returns from Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, September 13, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time! Some familiar faces will be returning, and another Pokémon will be making its Pokémon GO debut. Which will it be? Here's a hint: be careful of revolving too much of your life around one thing—you might find that it could overturn at a moment's notice!

This is, of course, just a hint at what's to come. I'd expect a full breakdown of the event soon from Niantic. However, we can definitely look at what they wrote in that last line and come to a pretty solid conclusion as to what Pokémon may be arriving in the game for the first time.

It's going to be Inkay.

Inkay is evolved in the main series by turning your device upside-down, which is referred to by the line "be careful of revolving too much of your life around one thing—you might find that it could overturn at a moment's notice!" I think it'll be cool if Niantic is able to directly adapt this method of evolution to Pokémon GO.

Fashion Week: Stylishly dressed Pokémon will be making their debuts, along with a fluffy and fashionable friend! Strut your stuff with these fashionable Pokémon, new avatar items, and more during Fashion Week, taking place from Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Fluffy and fashionable? I'm thinking Furfrou.

What I'm hoping here is that Niantic sets last year's Top Hat Kirlia debacle right this time around. Put it in raids, make it Shiny-capable, and make it clear that it's Shiny-capable.

Team GO Rocket's Boss seems to be missing…: Where has Giovanni gone? We hope he's not planning something in the shadows! Be sure to keep an eye out for updates throughout the season. Super Rocket Radars won't be able to track down Giovanni during this time, so no need to keep them equipped.

Hm… this seems to suggest there won't be a switch to Team GO Rocket content during the month but it seems weird to call it out like this. I'd suspect something unique here or perhaps content that will build-up toward the expected Team GO Rocket activity in October for Halloween.
