Pokémon GO Now Lets You Trade Teams Once A Year

Not a fan of the Pokémon GO team you're on anymore? Tired of always winning and would like to be the underdog for a change? Now you can trade teams! The Pokemon Company announced this week that a new update will allow you to trade teams if you so desire, starting at 1pm PST on February 26th. At that point, the Team Change feature will be unlocked and Trainers wishing to change teams can do so by purchasing a Team Medallion for 1,000 PokéCoins from the shop. The catch: you can only do this once a year, so whatever choice you make, you're stuck with it for the next 365 days. Of course, you don't have to change teams, but the option is still there if you so desire.

When you decide to activate a Team Medallion from your inventory, you'll be able to choose your new team. You may purchase a Team Medallion only once every 365 days, so choose your new team wisely!

Any of your Pokémon in Gyms at the time you change teams will be returned with no earned PokéCoins once they're defeated. You'll also be unable to battle your own Pokémon, so if you return to a Gym that has your Pokémon defending it, your Pokémon will be returned to you with no earned PokéCoins.
