Pokémon Sword and Shield will be Getting a Nintendo Direct Next Week
The Pokémon Company has announced two major Pokémon-themed events, including a Nintendo Direct for Pokémon Sword and Shield. Sword and Shield will be the next major installment for the Pokémon franchise of RPGs. They're also hosting a Press Conference today at 6pm PDT which might reveal an unannounced Pokémon game. Or it might be more info on Pokémon Rumble Rush.
The Pokémon Sword and Shield Nintendo Direct will be held next week, which should scratch your RPG itch. However, it does mean we probably won't see anything on the Pokémon RPG at E3. Which is disappointing, but it also means Nintendo has more time to focus on other big titles during their E3 Direct on June 11th.
As Eurogamer points out, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company were recruiting for an unannounced mobile game with Magic: The Gathering's Nikolaus Davidson as a principle designer:
We do know The Pokémon Company was previously recruiting for an unannounced mobile game title, and Nikolaus Davidson (Magic: The Gathering Arena) is currently listed as a principle designer. A new trading card game for mobile, perhaps? Or an entirely new title? So long as it's not more info on Pokémon Rumble Rush.
We won't know for sure until after the stream which you can watch on the official Pokémon Company website at 6pm PDT / 9pm EDT.
