Sega has Announced the Pricing for Shenmue I & II

Shenmue I & II's western release was announced by Sega this weekend, and the company has taken some time today to confirm the price. North American players will be able to pick up the "definitive version" of both games for $29.99 USD. The company also confirmed the title will support achievements across all platforms.

The news came to us not through the usual press routes by thanks to YouTuber Adam Koralik, who shared the details on Twitter and on YouTube after his trip to Sega Fes in Japan. "I'm now allowed to inform you of the retail price of the Shenmue 1 and 2 rerelease," he tweeted. "$29.99 USD gets you the collection. Applies to all US versions. Global pricing will reflect similar pricing in local currencies."

Koralik also confirmed the game will support achievements across the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One versions on his YouTube channel.

Sega announced the remaster's western release, though they were rather slim on the details. What we do know is that this edition of the games will come with some modernized features, including a fully scale-able screen resolution, choice of modern or classic control schemes, PC graphics options, an updated UI, and the option of toggling on the original the English and Japanese voiceovers.

Since their original release, Shenmue I & II have established a passionate following and are revered as one of gaming's greatest series of all time. The games tell a story of retribution as Ryo Hazuki sets out to avenge his father's death and attempts to unravel the secrets behind a mysterious artifact known as the Dragon Mirror.
