Super Smash Bros. Creator Knows Fans Want Waluigi Says Nintendo Boss

Nintendo of America boss Reggie Fils-Amie has said that he and Super Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakurai are aware of the fan's cries for Waluigi in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Super Smash Bros.

I've always liked Waluigi. The ridiculousness of the idea always held a nice place in my heart, from his look, concept and especially the muddy phonetic sound of his name, he's great because he is so absurd. His popularity is only rising too, with the internet currently swelling into memetic fervor around him. With the announcement of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and its gargantuan roster, the question of if he could turn up as more than just a trophy has followed the game.

Well, it seems that the series creator is aware of the ask. Speaking to Waypoint, Nintendo of America's Reggie Fils-Amie says that he, and by extension, series creator Masahiro Sakurai is aware of the ask. He said:

So, one of the good things about the way we approach E3 is when it's all said and done we step back. We look at all of the feedback and share with the devs and certainly Mr. Sakurai will be aware of the groundswell of support that appeared for a Waluigi. And in the end it's his decision to make.

For Waluigi fans, this will be good to hear and maybe there is a chance he gets added to the game. For the development team, I hope they just add what they think would be good for the game. They have only just announced the long asked for Ridley from Metroid, and it seems they already have a new campaign for another character on their hands. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see it, but only if he is what the team want to make.
