The Dark Eye: Book Of Heroes Gets A Making Of Video

This week, The Dark Eye: Book Of Heroes developer Random Potion and publisher Wild River Games have released a new "making of" video. If you haven't had a chance to check the game out, this is basically an old-school top-down RPG based around the tabletop game of the same name, using its 5th Edition ruleset. This is goi9ng to be the first of two videos they're releasing to show a behind-the-scenes look at making the game. This particular episode focuses on learning about the game's single and multiplayer co-op modes and gameplay options, as well as how they went about converting The Dark Eye into a video game. Plus, their own thoughts on working on this franchise. Enjoy the video!

Book of Heroes is based on the massively popular tabletop RPG The Dark Eye, which is one of the most beloved pen-and-paper RPGs in Germany —  right up there with Dungeons and Dragons! The game has you rolling up a character, creating their backstory, and heading off in search of action and adventure in the mystical lands of Aventuria — alone or with up to four online friends. Will you find fame and fortune, or foolhardy folly? The choice is yours!

Play with up to 4 players where you combine the specialities of the different species and professions to overcome enemies, puzzles and challenges in the myriad of procedurally generated maps. Choose from 12 different professions such as Assassin, Mercenary, Blessed one of Rondra, Knight or Black Magician and one of the four playable species: elves, half-elves, dwarves and humans and individualize the appearance of your character as you see fit. Enjoy extensive character development opportunities and item crafting in addition to common, improved and legendary items lootable throughout the game. Play with friends or alone in single-player mode with eight individual storylines. Hire a few companions at the Inn of the Black Boar for your adventures.
