American Team Evil Geniuses Win Biggest Prize In E-Sports History By Taking The International
I've been keeping tabs on The International 5 over the last few days, and it has been a wild ride. All the favorites were knocked around in the early stages and eventually fell by the wayside, with giants like Team Secret going out early in what is being called the best TI ever.
In the final last night, the competition ended with two fairly unlikely candidates in American team Evil Geniuses facing off against wild card team CDEC in a best of 5 match. EG had to go the hard way by winning the lower bracket final against LGD, but in the end, they took the final 3-1, and with it, $6.6 million dollars between the team, making them them the recipients of the biggest winning pot in e-Sports history.
This is the first time a US team has won a TI too, so I'm sure there is a little national pride there for some of you.
Well done to all the teams for participating in a great tournament.
