Donald Trump Retweeted Recut Mass Effect Advert Without Bioware Or EA's Permission
Bioware are a company known for their diverse characters, with quite a few of them representing different races and sexual orientation. At least socially, I personally found lots of their games to be pretty ready to explore what some might call 'liberal' story threads.
Well, the rather right-winged Donald Trump has just retweeted a fan made edit of a Mass Effect trailer that uses the Illusive Man's speech, to highlight the grievances of the candidate's supporter. EA have already jumped in and taken down the original YouTube link, but the video on Twitter is still active…for now.
Bioware's Manveer Heir wasn't so pleased with the endorsement himself, saying:
It's likely that Trump has never heard the words Mass Effect next to each other before, so I'm sure he just saw the video and shared it. Of course, what is funny, is that it features the Illusive Man, who is a totally bad dude from two of the games, so I guess we can all ponder on that.
