Early Players: No Man's Sky Saves Will Be Wiped Before Launch
There is a big hullabaloo at the moment about early copies of No Man's Sky, as shops are breaking street dates, and the game is getting into people's hands. (Incidentally, review code hasn't gone out yet.)
Well, if you are one of those people who have their hands on the game early, I've got some bad news for you. It seems that save progress and discoveries will be wiped before launch with a supposedly significant patch being applied just before launch.
Via GameInformer, Sony said in a statement.
For those users who have obtained early copies of No Man's Sky, their save progress will not carry over to the final game after the universe has been regenerated for launch.
Obviously this all means I won't be playing the game until launch like everyone else, so our review will be a little late. To be sure though, I'll let you know if the game is worth your time and money as fast as I can.
