I remember playing Gears of War vivdly. That game was one of those 'it's arrived' moments in gaming, and in this case it was pertaining to the start of HD console games. It really did look impossibly good to me at the time, leaving me unsure how graphics could possibly get better. Of course they did, and going back to the original version of the game now, it looks pretty garish. But those original impression still stick with me.
It seems that The Coalition is trying to repeat that feeling again with Gears 4. Speaking to Official Xbox Magazine (via Nerdleaks), producer talked up the graphical power of his new game.
Like how the original Gears of War was a visual showcase for the Xbox 360, Gears of War 4 will be a graphical showcase for the Xbox One,
Delivering [with Ultimate Edition] the first 60fps multiplayer experience in franchise history really taught us a lot about what it means to have a 60fps culture on the team and we're leveraging that experience for Gears of War 4.
Count me in for this. I really can't wait to find out more and see it in action again.
