Halo 5 Developer Says They Would Put In Split-Screen Multiplayer If They Could
There has been a big hubbub recently surrounding the news that Halo 5 wasn't going to feature split-screen multiplayer. The series was built on the back of the feature, and I'm sure you could make a compelling argument that the it wouldn't have been as big without it. That's why some fans feel quite miffed about its absence in the new Halo.
According to franchise director Frank O'Connor, the decision to leave out split-screen was 'nontrivial'. In a tweet to a fan who used the hashtag #BringHalo5SplitScreenBack, he said:
I do understand this is frustrating for a lot of fans, especially those who like to game together. Personally, I trust 343i to make the right call here, and I do think they believe this choice is for the artistic integrity of the game. Still doesn't mean it hurts any less for those who wanted to play together, mind.
