Matchmaking For Raids Is Not Off The Cards In Destiny
Raids are, almost undoubtedly, the most interesting and fleshy bits of Destiny content. They have also long been controversial too. The fact that you have to round up six friends to do long periods of gaming, and all those friends have to be in the late game; it's a high barrier for entry for the best content.
That is why matchmaking has long been asked for for the Raids, but Bungie have argued, with some merit, that you need to be in contact with others to really coordiante in order to get through the challenges. However, in a recent interview with Metro, when asked specifically if raid matchmaking was off the table, world design lead on the game Steve Cotton said:
No, no. We've been thinking about that a lot.
It's not a lot to go on, but previously Bungie have held a pretty hardline 'no' approach to the feature. It's something I'd love to see added into the game in some form. More people need to experience those raids. They are excellent.
