No Man's Sky Doesn't Require PlayStation Plus
While many have had dreams about floating through No Man's Sky with friends, discovering the galaxy as a group, the line from Hello Games has always been that multiplayer isn't really a apart of the game. The argument is that the Universe will be so large, the chance of even going to a planet that another player has visited is incredibly unlikely.
Because of that, Sony have decided that you won't need to be a PS Plus user to play the game. This was confirmed by GameInformer, who contacted Sony, who said:
PS Plus won't be a requirement to play online, however you will need to connected to the internet for your discoveries to register with the universal atlas
Basically this means, if you want the game to remember you discoveries, you will have to be online, otherwise, it's not a requirement.
This should help better explain what this game is and what it is now to people. We really are not too far from release now though, and I can't wait to jump in and see what the game has to offer.
