Project Spark Has Been Discontinued
Conceptually, I quite liked Project Spark. I even enjoyed playing it from time to time. The game was essentially an engine where you could easily create your own levels and games with select tools on Xbox One and PC, and it was actually surprisingly robust.
Sadly, it looks like the game's run is coming to a close. In a forum post, it was announced that as of today, the game is no longer available from the marketplace on Xbox One or PC. You can still create and download your favorite games until August, but after that, all online functionality will not be supported.
It's super sad to see such a promising project be eradicated. It was never that popular, and it obviously isn't worth the server investment for Microsoft anymore, but from a game preservation standpoint, it's sad to see it be totally ousted.
