Monday night is here and it's time for The SML Podcast here on Bleeding Cool!
Double Episode week as we feature interviews for Knight Squad and Starpoint Gemini 2!
Episode 142 has the crew welcoming Jean Simon Otis of Chainsawsome Games to discuss Xbox One Games with Gold title Knight Squad and all of the friendships it has ruined as well as previous studio projects, and the decision to make Knight Squad an online game!
Once JS finishes up with us, it's time to talk this week's featured titles! Hand of Fate from Defiant Development is a fantastic card based action puzzler worth playing. WRC 5 from Kylotonn Games and published by Maximum Games brings awesome rally racing to the new generation of consoles. Rock Zombie from Quaternion Studio and published by EnjoyUp Games mixes rocker girls and their instruments with zombies that need to be put down. Super Party Spots: Football from Handy Games brings a stupidly fun twist on physics puzzles and soccer (football) action. Baseball Riot from 10tonsLtd sees the return and refinement of their hit Tennis in the face, but with a baseball player ready to get some headshots. Finally, Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of the Legendary Legends from Vicioius Cycle and published by Little Orbit sees the Kung Fu Panda crew smashing bros. in a solid party brawler!
Plus plenty of news like the Just Cause 3 Doge Mode, Shadow Jago in Killer Instinct, the new Mortal Kombat X Kombat Pack, Rocket League, what we're playing, email, free games, music from Knight Squad, and more!
Check out the mp3 of the show HERE or check out the YouTube version! Make sure to hit up the YouTube version for all of the artist song credits and links to their pages!
Episode 143 is back to the hardcore interviews as Joe interviews Mario Mihokovic and Zeno Zokalj, two of the brains behind Little Green Men Games and owners of two names I'd never want to attempt to pronounce myself.
We talk about the Xbox One release of their title Starpoint Gemini 2 as well as what it's like bringing the game to a console. We talk the early beginnings of the game and it's prequel and some of the growing pains of having a game go through early access and preview stages where things might not go exactly the way you intend, and now that can lead to you giving away every ship in the game to everybody by accident.
Given it's SML, there's plenty of off topic chat as well including plenty of cat talk as Potato once again becomes the star of the show and my official apprentice. Things get crazy, things get stupid, things even get pretty educational towards the end, in the usual profane SML fashion. This is a do not miss Devs episode of SML! Plus music from the Bad Dudes Metroid Arrange Album!
Check out the mp3 of that show HERE or check out the YouTube Version!
If those don't work for you, you can check us out on iTunes and subscribe to us and get the final episodes a few days early and check out our past two years of shows!
Thanks for checking us out and we'll see you next week!
Joe Cammisa is an unemployed nerd who spends his time gaming, once again hosting The SML Podcast, and sharing pictures of his five cats on Facebook. Yeah, five. You can annoy him on Twitter [https://twitter.com/joecamnet] or on pretty much any gaming service under the name JoeCamNet. Be prepared to beat him in pretty much anything.
