Yes, Mass Effect: Andromeda's New Asari Companion Can Be Romanced

More news for Mass Effect: Andromeda. The game's Asari companion Peebee was confirmed as a romance option for at least one of the Ryder twins.

Producer Michael Gamble confirmed the news on twitter after voice actress Christine Lakin referenced the character's ability to "fall in love" in recent behind-the-scenes interview.

Since romance options will vary depending on which of the Ryder twins you choose to play as, it is unclear wether Peebee will be a romance option for Scott or Sara Ryder – or both.

Bioware seems to have a fondness for romance-able Asari. Of the three Asari companions featured in previous Mass Effect titles, all of them were eventually romance options for Commander Shepard. Honestly, it'd be more interesting if Peebee weren't a love interest, given the in-game social constraints of Asari. They are either lovers, strippers, "matriarchs," or the kind of serial killer who kills you with sex. So getting an outspoken Asari you couldn't romance and who had no romantic plot-lines would have been fantastic. But, oh well.
